The association that produces this coffee was started not too long ago in 2012. The farmers decided to start the association in order to achieve better commercialization and higher premiums. In this short time these producers have worked extremely hard to become certified as not only a fair trade organization, but organic as well. Ultimately this has resulted in better recognition for the work of the farmers and their families and has opened the door to a wide variety of consumers. After being washed the beans are sun dried, overall creating a clean and well-balanced cup.
